Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) Calculator
Measure employee loyalty and advocacy.
How eNPS works
Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) adapts the customer NPS methodology to measure employee loyalty and advocacy, typically from the question "How likely are you to recommend this organization as a place to work?" on a 0–10 scale.
Enter how many employees responded as promoters (score 9–10), passives (score 7–8) and detractors (score 0–6). The calculator returns the eNPS, ranging from −100 to +100.
eNPS uses exactly the same formula as customer NPS — the existing NPS Calculator — but applied to a different respondent population. Keep the two clearly labeled and don't compare them directly, since employee and customer sentiment drivers are very different.
The formula
eNPS = % Promoters − % Detractors
Passives count toward the total respondent base but don't appear in the final subtraction — only the promoter and detractor percentages determine the score.
Worked example
60 promoters, 25 passives, 15 detractors (100 total)
60% promoters − 15% detractors = eNPS of 45.
Frequently asked questions
What's a good eNPS score?
Benchmarks vary by industry and survey methodology — many organizations consider positive scores good and treat their own trend over time as more meaningful than a single external benchmark.
Should I compare eNPS to customer NPS?
Not directly — while the formula is identical, employee and customer populations respond to very different drivers, so a direct numeric comparison between the two is generally not meaningful.
How often should eNPS be measured?
Quarterly or biannual cadences are common — frequent enough to catch trends, infrequent enough to avoid survey fatigue.
